Light Changes Everything
New Synthesis LLC is the result of an energy healing practice that I began in 1997. Along the way my mission has remained the same and is simply stated in four words: "To Heal and To Teach."
I remain committed to the intention of the original mission statement.
My present awareness causes me to revise the statement. The mission is now simply stated in four words: "To Transform and To Share."
The scope then becomes very broad and suggests that we ALL have a responsibility: BE who we are and SHARE that BEING in an authentic way. This is the choiceless choice, and the workless work.
With Great Love and Divine Blessings,
John Mercede
Light Changes Everything is a call to action that reflects an illuminated view of life. Often, we speak of life using expressions that include "light." Phrases like "put some light on the subject", "light my fire", "the light of my life" and "out like a light", are just some examples. We do know that light is fundamental to life. The life of every living thing depends on light, said another way; Light is life. Science tells us that light is produced whenever atoms are energized. By energizing the atoms in our body and in our brain light is produced. When that light is created, we create life in our life and create the space of infinite possibility.
New Synthesis energy healing sessions support you in creating that space of infinite possibility. New Synthesis is a dynamic engagement with with all aspects of who you really are and works directly and distinctly with the energy of your body, mind, emotions and spirit. During a session together we will bring light into your life. With more light, you see more clearly and you transform old patterns of behavior. You step into and become a life of infinite possibility.

Spiritual Mentoring
New Synthesis, LLC - Office at One Danbury Rd Wilton, CT - (203) 209 4325
I am an ordinary man with an ordinary chance to live an extraordinary life. I work as a professional in the field of energy healing, coaching, and meditation. My expertise comes from my deep life experiences combined with extensive training and certification in healing systems and energy psychology. I also draw from my experience as an elite level athlete and coach, a martial artist with a Black Belt inAikido, an engineer, business person and parent.
I work with individuals, couples, families and groups to help them step into action and revitalize their passion for life. As a healer, I specialize in healing emotional and mental issues, sadness, anger, depression, and addictive behaviors. In my own life I had to deal with physical and sexual abuse which gives me the heartfelt compassion to support others in healing this part of their past. In my role as mentor or coach, I help others deepen their commitment to achieve excellence in their life. As a teacher, I share the depth of who I am through classes on meditation, vitality, self-transformation and spiritual education.
During my life I developed a deep understanding of what it takes to excel at a personal and professional level. I started working at the age of 11 trying nearly every job that came my way. I also explored athletics as a path to understanding my inner desire to achieve excellence. During that time I raced formula cars, raced bicycles and played racquetball at the National Team Level. Eventually I found myself working in industry as an apprentice building prototypes for a major corporation. This job gave me the opportunity to go to college at night and earn a degree in Mechanical Engineering. I was always driven to find the best within myself and bring it out, and help others do the same. This attitude as a way of life opened the path for me, a fabricator from the prototype shop, to become an engineering program manager traveling around the world.
My quest for excellence and the understanding of truth runs deep. I was raised in a Catholic home, and I felt deeply connected to the trinity of energy: Father, Mother and Spirit. I always held a knowing that God is everywhere and in everything and as a young child I would often ponder on what that meant in my life. Self-inquiry eventually led me to study spirituality, energy science, energy healing and meditation. During the last twenty years I have studied with Great Teachers and Masters. I have worked beside Master Healers and worked out with Martial Arts Masters. I have been blessed to travel around the world and be in close relationship with Spiritual Masters and a living Saint. The path, which has not always been smooth or easy to walk, has brought me to place where I embody the rich teachings of the East and the matter-of-factness of the West. I find myself sharing from this vantage point which is practical, grounded and supported by the discipline and practices from many traditions.
With all that said I remind myself; I am an ordinary man making the choice to live an extraordinary life.

Aikido Development And History
Aikido's founder, Morihei Ueshiba was born in Japan on December 14, 1883. As a boy, he often saw local thugs beat up his father for political reasons. He set out to make himself strong so that he could take revenge. He devoted himself to hard physical conditioning and eventually to the practice of martial arts, receiving certificates of mastery in several styles of jujitsu (unarmed combat), kenjitsu (sword fighting), and sojitsu (spear fighting). In spite of his impressive physical and martial capabilities, however, he felt very dissatisfied. He began delving into religions in hopes of finding a deeper significance to life, all the while continuing to pursue his studies of budo, or the martial arts. By combining his martial training with his religious and political ideologies, he created the modern martial art of Aikido. The formulation of Aikido dates from an incident that occurred in 1925.
In the course of a discussion about martial arts, a disagreement arose between O-Sensei and a naval officer who was a fencing instructor. the officer challenged O-Sensei to a match, and attacked with wooden sword. O-Sensei faced the officer unarmed, and won the match by evading blows until his attacker dropped from exhaustion. He later recalled that he could see opponent's moves before they were executed, and that this was the beginning of his enlightenment.
O-Sensei later wrote: "Budo (the martial way) is not felling the opponent by our force; not is it a tool to lead the world into destruction with arms. True budo is to accept the spirit of the universe, keep the peace of the world, correctly produce, protect, and cultivate all things in nature. "Ueshiba decided on the name "Aikido" in 1942 (before that he called his martial art "aikibudo" and "aikinomichi").
On the technical side, Aikido is rooted in several styles of jujitsu (from which modern judo is also derived), in particular daitoryu-(aiki)jujitsu, as well as sword and spear fighting arts. Oversimplifying somewhat, we may say that Aikido takes the joint locks and throws from jujitsu and combines them with the body movements of sword and spear fighting. However, we must also realize that many Aikido techniques are the result of Master Ueshiba's own innovation.
On the religious side, Ueshiba was a devotee of one of Japan's so-called new religions, Omotokyo. One goal of Omotokyo has been the unification of all humanity in a single "heavenly kingdom on earth" where all religions would be united. It is impossible to sufficiently understand many of O Sensei's writings and sayings without keeping the influence of Omotokyo firmly in mind.
O-Sensei continued to practice and teach aikido into his old age. Observers would marvel at his martial abilities, vitality, and good humor; he was still giving public demonstrations of aikido four months before his death at age 86 in April of 1969. After he passed away, the Japanese government declared Morihei Ueshiba a Sacred National Treasure of Japan. O-Sensei's son, Kisshomaru Ueshiba, inherited the title "Doshu" (Leader of the Way) until his death in January of 1999. The tile of Doshu now resides with Kisshomaru’s son, Moriteru Ueshiba.
Despite what many people think or claim, there is no unified philosophy of Aikido. What there is, instead, is a disorganized and only partially coherent collection of religious, ethical, and metaphysical beliefs which are only more or less shared by Aikidoists, and which are either transmitted by word of mouth or found in scattered publications about Aikido. At the core of almost all philosophical interpretations of Aikido, however, we may identify at least two fundamental threads: (i) a commitment to self-improvement through training and (ii) a commitment to peaceful resolution of conflict whenever possible.
